Popular style website Hypebeast has added print to its portfolio, launching the inaugural issue of the Hypebeast Magazine. The first issue is entitled The Synthesis Issue and features a cover story with Dior Hommes’s Artistic Director and founder of his eponymous label, Kris Van Assche.
Coming in at 200 pages, the hefty title also covers other designers with a focus on the “merging of high- and low-end fashion, collaborations and the ‘bubble-up & trickle-down’ theory” and what it means to them. Other content includes: China based artist, Cai Guo-Qiang; Managing Director for Vitsoe, Mark Adams; skateboarding legend, Jason Dill and more.
A few style orientated websites have launched print editions in the past. SlamXhype’s The New Order and High Snobiety had a print edition for Bread and Butter one year. It’s an interesting trend and will be even more interesting to see how it progresses.
A quarterly title, the Hypebeast magazine retails at $12 USD and can be purchased from the Hypebeast Store.
